Featured Place: Think Cool, Think Canada, Think Nova Scotia

Canada is one of the coolest places in the world, in more ways in one, and right now that sounds pretty good here in the lower 48, in more ways than one.  Canada is huge and diverse, of course, and no place better illustrates that than Nova Scotia, “New Scotland,” one of Canada’s maritime provinces far to the East, a far cry from Alberta.

DIGBY is a town of a couple thousand on the western end of Nova Scotia and known as the “Scallop Capital of the World.”  There is a festival to celebrate its history in August and a major motorcycle rally on Labor Day weekend. They say the Bay of Fundy has the greatest difference between high and low tides in the world.

Digby Backpackers Inn is one of our partner hostels there, with beds for only around thirty bucks, and private rooms available for you honeymooners.  There’s breakfast, bikes, and WiFi, too, of course, plus much much more.  It’s all written up in with complete contact info in “500 Hostels in the USA (& Canada & Mexico).  We recommend that you check it out.
