Leaving LA in the Not-so-Broad Daylight…

IMG_2509I’ve been accused of writing country music songs in my spare time, to make ends meet and to fulfill other sporadic random urges, apparently, so maybe I should. Here goes another attempt, one more time, so how’s that howling coyote go? Wa-ooo, wuff wuff wa-ooo, get along little doggies…

Except that the LA in this case is Los Angeles, not Louisiana, and the time in question is midnight, not daylight, BUT: Hey, it’s better than ‘LA in the Rear-view Mirror, US in the Gutter’, which is how I really feel. Don’t you just love it when happy coincidences converge in real life? (More …)

Announcing a New Travel Service for Wannabe Trump Refugee Expatriates…

Image result for cubano de talBeat the rush! Don’t Delay! Don’t get caught looking the wrong way! If the thought of Donald Trump as our next President is as disgusting to you as it is to me, then start making plans to leave the country now, while the dollar is strong and the lines are short, because they likely won’t last long! Thousands of Americans reside in other countries even before the Trump card is played, and you can bet that number will increase if the Donald (el Donaldo, where you’ll likely be going) is elected.

Have you ever been to Asia? It might be a good time to visit! What about Latin America? Pues si, como no!? And the hottest travel destination in the world IMHO is Eastern Europe. Imagine, Europe at half the price, and equally cultured and beautiful! Of course, traveling there and living there are two different things, and working there another degree of difficulty altogether. So first, define your objective: escaping the new revised USA of Donald A$$hole Trump, of course, got it. (More …)

Econo-Politico-Kouzino Fiasco: Splattering Rancid Greece all over the Good China

Fairly lost in all the hubbub over Western democratic standard-bearer Greece’s trials and tribs over budgetary peccadilloes and illegal immigration pequeninos washing up on its shores, is the problem in behemoth China’s own economy, whose stock market has lost some $3Trillion bucks over the last month, more than the entire annual GDP of all but the world’s four largest economies, and equal to those of the UK or France. Ouch! I hate when that happens.

    Chinese Renminbi (yuan)

Fortunately it’s a Communist country, so the government is in control, right? Yeah, right… welcome to the real world, China, may we all survive. Hey, how about that awesome display of δημοκρατία in the special Greek referendum, no? Demos really socked it to the Big Bad Bankers, didn’t they? Ho hum, politics… Exchange rate EUR:USD is strongest the dollar’s been since Year One in my memory… good time to travel Europe… The word for the Greek pre-Euro currency, ‘drachma’ δραχμή, means to ‘grasp’; good idea…

It only took ABC a few hours to bring up the term ‘al-Qaeda’ in their reporting, despite any apparent reason for it. Knee-jerk reactions are not helpful… My greatest fear is of becoming inured to–not injured by–the constant violence, though the good folks from the 4B’s–Belfast, Bosnia, Baghdad, and Beirut–assure us that life goes on, every day. R.I.P. innocent victims & say a prayer, America…
